The Mega Plan is a plan that your Employer offers in conjunction with the Basic Plan. This plan works great for people that need to see a doctor a little more often, but not enough to pay the high costs of regular Major Medical Insurance. This allows you to have assistance in paying some of the costs, and keeping more money in your pocket for other things you want to do.
The Mega Plan includes Office Visit Assistance for you when you need to physically see a variety of Health Care Professionals. (Refer to your Enrollment Guide, and other documents for details. These can be downloaded through your company login at StarMec.org)
Lab work is now directly covered under the Mega Plan, there is no discount card to worry about, or networks to keep track of. Simply pay your co-pay and go.
Vision is included for one visit per year per eligible member. The plan covers a yearly Eye Exam, and also pays towards Glasses or Contacts.
You have the option of adding even more benefits when you have the Mega Plan. You can add our Mega Plan Plus Options of Dental and/or ER benefits if you prefer, for an additional monthly fee. The rates are on your Waiver/Acceptance form provided in your Open Enrollment Documents.
NOTE: If you choose the Mega Plan, you and family members have to both be enrolled in the Mega Plan to Add on the Mega Plus Options. Mega Plus Options can not be added to the Basic Plan. This plan can only be cancelled at time of Open Enrollment, unless there is a qualifying event. See FAQ’s for Definition of Qualifying Event.
